Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation, an independent, voluntary organization of farmers
and ranchers, was organized in 1922. The primary objective of the members of this
organization was to analyze their problems and formulate mechanisms to solve these
problems through interaction with the legislature and the promotion of education and
social activities.
Marketing programs for agricultural products was one of the first services offered by
the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation and then the services were expanded to include a
complete insurance program and other economic services. Our traditional insurance market
has been the agricultural community in the state of Mississippi, but today we seek to serve
all Mississippians who support the Farm Bureau values.
The Mississippi Farm Bureau Group primarily consists of two property and casualty
insurance companies, Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company and Mississippi
Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company.
Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company was licensed to begin operation on
September 30, 1947. Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company operates in six
southern states including Mississippi. This Company issues automobile policies,
farmer’s general liability policies and comprehensive automobile policies. Today,
with an A.M. Best Rating A+ Superior, Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company
is in the top of its class.
Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company began issuing business on
September 1, 1986. Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company specializes in
writing homeowners, dwelling package, standard fire and inland marine business for
members of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation. Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty
Insurance Company has become a leader in the insurance industry through the marketing
of competitive products and the extensive training of our underwriters, claims adjusters
and agents.
